Backtrack: A Night Out With NowSeeHeart

My involvement with Madani exposed me to a lot of people particularly in the nasyid industry. I've met NowSeeHeart (NSH) on several ocassions, chiefly during programs I participated back in MCIIUM either when they perform or serves as production crew. A few weeks back Haziq & I decided to meet up with them to discuss several things such as performance payment rate, PA system, etc. We also want to learn some stuffs from them.

We took the LRT to Taman Melati, Bro. Huzaimi is already waiting at the station. We get in the car and proceed to pick up another NSH member Izhar. Our destination: SMK TTDI Jaya at Shah Alam. The journey was smooth with light traffic along the way with the exception at Jalan Duta area.

Not before long, we arrived at the school. The other three members arrived shortly after. The school are having motivational camp for SPM candidates and one of the event is nasyid performance by NSH. My, these guys are lucky - my SPM Motivational Camp back then we need to perform ourselves. By the way, the school was affected during the recent Shah Alam flood and we can clearly see the stain on the building. It's about one meter high.

Following standard procedure, NSH performed sound check at the venue to calibrate the sound system. As expected, the school sound system is less than optimal for a performance but they adjusted to the best thay can to reduce the excessive bass and humming. The performance started around 11pm, belting out Damai Yang Hilang, Ku Harap Cinta, Hijrah and Damai. In between the songs they interacted with the audience through quiz. Three students was lucky to bring back NSH posters and postcard.

It was already past midnight when the performance ended. We head back to Taman Melati taking the Federal Highway route. The NSH PR, Bro. Basiron took the NKVE. We are already on the highway when the unexpected happened, Basiron's car ran out of fuel. We are forced to leave Federal Highway to enter NKVE and assist them. When we spotted their car, Bro. Basiron and Bro. Izhar was already tired from pushing their car for several hundred meter. Haziq and I get down to assist them. The four of us pushed the car uphill for almost 1.5km before reaching a Petronas petrol kiosk. Thank God it's a Proton Wira, anything heavier we doubt we can make it. My, we are really exhausted when we reach there.

After refueling the car, we get back into Bro. Huzaimi car and continue our journey to Taman Melati. To add to the drama that night, his car also serves us a low fuel warning. Fortunately, we made it to a petrol kiosk or else there's another car to push. At last we made it to the place, we hang out at the mamak shop until 4am. Only then we get the info we wanted, and they are generous at it. At the end of the day we are very exhausted but it worths. Next time we'll remember to check the fuel tank level...
