Mistaken Identity

People's Assumption Versus True Identity

Assumed Name: Ariff
True Name: Firdaus
-> This is pretty much due to my own mistake by using the name Ibnu Ariff without writing my real name anywhere on this page. Ibnu Ariff means Son of Ariff, which Ariff is of course the name of my father. This mistake usually happen with internet contacts, but it didn't affect me much anyway

Assumed Age: Either less or more than a matriculation student
True Age: 18
-> People who met me for the first time out of college and offline will usually assume that I'm not yet a college student. This is due to the youthful look I inherit from both of my parents. ;-) But the bummer is when people say that my younger sister is my elder sister when I don't have any other elder sibling. And most people usually do think I have at least one elder sibling.

->And those who think I'm older than what I'm is usually net contacts, where they guess my age by my style of writing. This usually happen at those tech online forums I participate where usually only older people participate. But this kind of misassumption also happen out of cyber world, mostly due to my choice of clothing at times which potray me as a working force.

Assumed Exempted Language: Arabic
True Exempted Language: English
-> Somehow, I got the religous school student look. Thus, people expect me to be exempted from taking Arabic but instead I cleared all the four level of English at MCIIUM by passing the test. And I'm still stuck at Level 1 Arabic.

Assumed Hosmestate: KL or Johor
True Homestate: Pahang
-> Most of us usually predict someone's state of origin by their dialect, but because I can't speak in Pahang dialect so they usually fail to identify my state of origin. I'm equally at home in KL too as I've spent equal nuumber of years staying in Kuantan and KL, so they are not totally wrong. As those who guessed Johor that's because for the past two months I'm here at MCIIUM I've only mentioned going straight to Johor on weekends or during the break.

Assumed Former School: Religous School
True Former School: Standard Daily School
-> This is because of two things. First, I wear that kopiah anywhere I go and secondly is because of the confusing abbreviation of my former school. SMART should stand for Sekolah Menengah Abdul Rahman Talib but they interpret it as Sekolah Menengah Agama R.... T...

Assumed Course: Medic or IT
True Course: Engineering
-> Both of my parents is doctors so naturally they expect to become one too but I can't ever take this course because I didn't take up Biology for SPM. As for IT, that's because I'm very keen on the subject and master it but I deliberately didn't choose IT only course because I wanted to be able to create physically, and not just stuck to virtual content creation. Besides, there's a lot of IT component in Engineering nowadays so I can still learn a lot on IT.

Well, that's my mistaken identity assumed by people around me. How about you?
