Cap + T-Shirt + Khakis + Backpack = Techogeeks?

The equation is not mathematics but I'm quite amused when my friend mooted the above equation. Farid deduced it after seeing members of i-Symbian at our recent meet last Saturday. I myself didn't realize the similarity among our attire but safely said, Farid's equation is eighty percent correct at most of the time. There aren't any instruction for up to dress like that but for a group of people with the same passion it's not surprising that they have similar idea in any particular are. The above equation hits squarely at me and I think it arise out of our need as a tech and gadget freak. The backpack is where geeks like us store and organize our gadgets. Brand of choice is usually Targus, Dicota, Crumpler and Deuter (not really techie stuff but tech friendly anyway). Made with gadgets in mind this bags have generous padding to protect the valuable cargo (and our back too) and lots of pockets to store the various gadgets with the accessories, chargers and what not.

As for the cap, most geeks don't give much care to tend their hair like the current crop of metrosexual guys so just cover it up to make it look tidy. As for t-shirts there aren't any particularly preferred brand but at gatherings mostly wear one emblazoned with a logo of their group or any tech company. Khaki is usually Dockers Mobile Pants, with lots of pockets but without that baggy look of cargo pants. So many pockets you can put your wallet, handphone, PDA, music player and a foldable portable keyboard inside. Plus the fabric is treated with water repelling chemical to protect the precious gadgets inside. Such a geeky posting today, at least you guys know how to spot a geek. Heh.

Enough of geek stuff last week. Gonna get artsy for this weekend. :)
